TRIPLE 300 AVERAGE SPEED CHALLENGE
Race Info
Our goal here at the TRIPLE 300 is to provide the highest quality Average Speed Series.
Most One Loft Races have a Final Race typically around 330 miles, what we are offering is a chance/proving grounds to find your top 300 mile family by offering three (3) average speed races over 300 miles and to payout a life changing payout to the Champions.
While training our way out to the three 300+ mile races we will also be offering a 5 race sprint series with a handsome average speed pay out as well. (see payout page)
There will be no one hit wonder in this series as this will bring out the best bird that will perform week after week and prove they are truly a Sprint Champion and a 300+mile Champion
We have built a new 84 ft long state of the art loft with 12 compartments, a full length common hallway, an office and a water and feed prep room. (see photo gallery)
We are located on the Central Coast of California. Our climate is very mild averaging from 65 to 75 degrees most of the year. We are about 18 miles east of the ocean so occasionally we will have morning fog. 50 miles north of us is a 1,500 ft grade (Cuesta Grade). The challenge we have with the grade is north of the grade has an entirely different climate, substantially hotter so at times, by the time the fog lifts it may already be 80 to 90 degrees on the north side. What you will see with our training techniques is a multitude of release locations that are west or east of the actual line of flight.
This has worked well for our club members for many years to avoid training on excessively hot days. We have about 100 miles to train along highway 101 from the north and then we are forced to move to Interstate 5 which is ultimately where our race stations are located (a 40 mile move to the east) so what you will see is a two different 97 mile stations, a west station and an east station 40 miles to the east. Again no issues with that, our club has been flying this course for more than 50 years so we have plenty of experience and success with this course and training methods.
